Lance McKinney practices in the area of elder law, including probate, probate litigation, guardianship, estate planning, and special needs and long-term care planning. He received formal training in investment fiduciary responsibility, and earned the AIF® designation from Center for Fiduciary Studies through the University of Pittsburgh in August, 2004. In June, 2005 Lance earned his certification as an Elder Law Attorney by the Florida Bar. Since 1998, he has been a speaker for the Professional Guardianship Course that is mandated by the State of Florida.
Lance is a member of the Special Needs Alliance which is a national network of attorneys dealing with special needs trusts and disability issues. He was Accredited with the Veteran’s Administration in 2009. He is Past President and Director of NAMI Lee County, Inc and been serving in a leadership capacity since 2006-2012. Florida State Guardianship Association (FSGA) Director 2010- 2012, President 2012-2013. The Florida State Guardianship Association is dedicated to the protection of the dignity and rights of incapacitated persons throughout the State of Florida. Received the SuperLawyer designation for 2015-2018.
Lance is admitted to practice in all courts of the State of Florida and the Federal Court of the Middle District of Florida.
