Ryan Benefiel

 

Ryan was born in Dallas, TX and moved to Ft. Myers in 1992.Ryan has two dogs, Winston and Georgia (Winston also serves as my service dog) and a beautiful cat, Ruby, which was rescued in Atlanta. Ryan graduated from Fort Myer High School and then attended the University of Central Florida, majoring in Political Science with a focus on Franco-German relations within the European Union and a minor in German, which he speaks fluently. Following his undergraduate degree, he attended The University of West Georgia where he obtained his Master of Business Administration.

Ryan loves traveling and has lived in Seoul, South Korea and Braunschweig, Germany. He has served in various positions during his career in the corporate sector. Ryan has worked within the apartment industry for over 17 years. During this time Ryan has been responsible for creating, analyzing sales and creating budgets. At his peak Ryan oversaw 100 communities and managed a staff of four within the creative space. Property branding experience includes HUD housing, Section 8 housing, bank receiverships, multifamily housing, and student housing. Most recently he held the title of Executive Vice President for Preferred Apartment Communities, a publicly traded company, overseeing the student housing division, and is Yieldstar Certified Analyst as a sales analyst. He is also on the advisory board for Threshold/Carve, which is an international creative firm located in Austin, TX and Toronto, Ontario.

Ryan has been a member of Hope Clubhouse of South West Florida for over two years and has become passionate about mental health and fighting the stigma which often come with those illnesses. Ryan has Schizoaffective disorder, which means he has schizophrenia and a mood disorder. In his case Ryan has Bipolar 1. Through my caregiver many psychiatrists, inpatient hospital stays, therapy and Hope Clubhouse’s membership I am currently almost symptom free.
